ABOUT INSIDE DETROIT
Inside Detroit is a non profit 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to promote Detroit as a preferred destination to live, work and play by educating the public about Detroit’s history, culture, community and livability.
Our vision is to be the premier organization that creates positive perceptions, spurs economic development and cultivates a more vibrant, energetic Detroit.
Inside Detroit showcases Detroit’s assets, from its attractions to its small businesses to its community. When people see Detroit through our eyes they become invested: they spend money at local businesses they spread the word about the positive things happening in Detroit, and most importantly, they are happy to be in Detroit whether they are here for a day or a lifetime. Detroit’s future, as well as Michigan’s, depends on attracting and retaining talent, growing small businesses and collaborating as a region. What we offer is simple but powerful – a Detroit that defies expectations, full of creativity, opportunity and community where talent, business and collaboration thrive.
Inside Detroit began in 2005 when Maureen Kearns and Jeanette Pierce came together under the same thought: The more people know Detroit, the more they love it. As two people who lived, worked and played in Detroit they wanted to show people the great gems, many of them hidden, that Detroit had to offer, but they wanted to do it from an Insider’s perspective.
Not only did they want to show people the history and architecture, they wanted to show them where they could find great boutiques and great beer too.
Most importantly, they wanted to introduce people to the Detroit community, which is full of diverse, interesting and friendly people. More than 3 years later Inside Detroit is continuing to grow and educate people about the unique city of Detroit…and loving every minute of it!

General Statement of Principles
As described in detail below, any information we gather at this web site is strictly for our use and is not shared with any other entity, public or private, for any reason – period. We will not sell or give away any lists or other data that we may retain and we do not purchase such information from other sources.
Statistical Data
Our servers (as most) track IP addresses and referring pages to help with site maintenance and improvements. This data is viewed only as anonymous statistics to show the busiest times of the day or week, pages with errors and how effective our advertising has been. This information is not used for any other purpose.
Personal Information Collected – Order Forms
With the exception of credit card info, we store the information from your order form to allow us to track consulting issues or refer to a previous order to help provide some customer service. You may elect to have your information completely removed from this system by e-mailing us at info@insidedetroit.org with your request. We do not store any type of credit card information.
Information Correction or Removal
If you wish to correct, update or remove any information about you that may be in our records, please send us e-mail at info@insidedetroit.org with the details of your request. If you wish to contact us further, please find complete contact information on our contact page.
Store Exchange Policy
Items purchased in our store may be exchanged for merchandise or store credit within 30 days of purchase with receipt.
